BVS administrators and school counselors provide coaching and ongoing support to assist students with the transition from traditional schooling to virtual learning. Important Information for All Grade LevelsBVS serves as Broward County's virtual instruction program and satisfies the requirements outlined in Florida Statute 1002.45. Full-time BVS students are registered as public school students, participate in standardized assessments required by the Florida Department of Education, and may earn a Broward County high school diploma entirely online.

How does online elementary school work?As a parent, you play an active role by partnering with teachers and your child - while Stride K12 and your school provide resources, advice, and access to the support of an online parent community. Student's RoleIn elementary school, content is a blend of online and offline learning, with hands-on materials provided. Students join online class sessions with teachers and can work independently to carying degrees but do require support from their Learning Coach for much of the school day. Parent's RoleYou or another responsible adult act as your child's Learning Coach. Learning Coaches work with teachers - helping to monitor student attendance and mastery of online lessons and assessmnents. On average, you'll spend 4-6 hours a day providing guidance and oversight. Teacher's RoleState-certified teachers help create student learning plans, monitor progress and attendance, teach live online classes, and hold online help sessions and office hours |
