2017 Kids and Staff of Character Awards
Congratulations to Micah Roberts (BVS 11th grader) and Ms. Wasser (BVS Teacher of the Year) for winning the Sun Sentinel Kids and Staff of Character Awards! Both Micah and Ms. Wasser consistently set a positive example for their peers. We're so lucky they're a part of the BVS family. They will be officially honored by our Superintendent and School Board members on April 24th. |
BVS Students Shine at District World Language Competition!
The District's World Language Academic Competition was held on March 4 at Ft. Lauderdale High School. BVS students earned one gold, two silver, and six bronze medals. Congratulations to the following students for their winning performance... Jeffrey Drew (Spanish II) won second place for impromptu speaking and third place for declamation. Mayard Mardjhana (Japanese I) won third place for both impromptu speaking and declamation Melanie Blethen (Japanese I) won third place for both impromptu speaking and declamation. Kaido Fuchimoto (Japanese II) won first places for impromptu speaking and third place for declamation. Kimberly Lastra (Japanese II) won second place for impromptu speaking and fourth place for declamation. |
Help BVS Support Animal Rescue Shelters!
The BVS National Honor Society has launched a schoolwide drive for supplies to help sheltered dogs in Broward County. The attached flyer contains our wish list. Items can be dropped off at our main office in Coconut Creek. Please help with this worthy cause. NHS thanks you in advance! |
Meet & Greet at Barnes & Noble
The BVS National Honor Society will host its second student meet and greet on March 22 between 11 AM and noon. All full-time BVS students are welcome. The event will be held at Barnes and Noble at 591 S. University Drive in Plantation. Come hang out with your fellow classmates! |
Free SAT For 11th Grade Students: April 5th
The Broward County School district is offering a free SAT test (without writing) to all 11th grade students. It is mandatory and this test will benefit students in several ways. |

Come on BVS Trailblazers let's show the state of Florida where the brightest students come from! Those of you who have been preparing and are eager to show what you have been learning from the online course curriculum will soon have your chance. Please review the BVS testing schedule under the Counselor's Updates page. February 27th starts the first day of testing for the spring semester.
