Student Spotlight

October 2021

  • Liah Santiago (Class of 2022)

Our first-semester Student Spotlight shines on BVS senior Liah Santiago. In addition to being a stellar student, Liah is an accomplished entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of AICI Boutique -- a designer brand that includes luxury leather goods exclusively handmade in Italy. Her debut collection is the result of her own original hand-drawn designs. Liah is generously offering a discount on her uniquely designed products to BVS students, parents, and staff (use code BVS30 at checkout).

Liah chose to attend BVS for the flexibility and advanced learning opportunities. She has masterfully taken control of her own learning path. Since joining BVS, Liah has completed her high school courses sooner than she would have in a traditional school and is currently working on her college degree through dual enrollment. Liah's career goal is to become a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Impressive!

When asked about her remarkable success at such a young age, Liah confidently states, "My success formula is faith, persistence, and positivity. It’s not our status that separates us, but our mentality and outlook. Therefore, it’s best not to dwell on issues, but rather we should remain optimistic and hopeful for what's ahead."

Bravo, Liah! Thank you for representing the very best of what it means to be a BVS Trailblazer.

February 2021

  • Elliot London (Senior)

Our Student Spotlight this quarter shines on Elliot London (BVS Class of 2021). In addition to being a stellar student, Elliot's passions are game fishing and entrepreneurship. At the age of 14, he invented a lure specifically designed for deep-sea fishing. Elliot's invention became so popular that he started a business called Baitstrips (www.baitstrips.com). His products are now sold in 8 stores as well as online. After graduation, Elliot will attend FAU to study business. Kudos to Elliot for achieving his entrepreneurial goals and pursuing his love of game fishing... all while maintaining a near-perfect high school GPA. Impressive!
